Kitchen for an animal lover

Whangamatā
The client wanted to update their kitchen which needed to work better for her and her husband and their extended family as they often entertain. A large, almost “walk-in” pantry makes it super easy to hide the hard working prep area and appliances.
Their beloved pets were also considered and a special hidden cat “feeding station” was added in a descreet location where the dog is not able to enter.
The kitchen island was inspired by the idea of the social counter in a café – a place for a quick coffee, a long chat, the heart of the home where everyone gathers at parties. There is additional seating for an informal social space which makes the most of the view and sun.
